Project: Net Zero/Positive Strategies (Carbon, Biodiversity & Water)

Sustain Value has undertaken a number of projects for a variety of clients exploring best practice approaches and targets around having net zero and net positive impacts on environmental issues. These have covered carbon, biodiversity and water.
One of the projects investigated ‘water neutrality’ for a European energy company. The study involved exploring different water neutrality definitions & principles, corporate benchmarking, and proposing a definition and recommended approach for the company. This led to a follow-up project, in which we investigated the potential for compensating for some of the water the company uses in operations in an Avoid-Reduce-Compensate approach.
Our work has also involved recommending two organisations on next steps for them to establish and implement suitable approaches and targets to achieve net-zero/positive.
